I dont know what i should do, i want to take my whole nail off, but is that safe and my finger keeps pulsating,I smashed my finger in a car door? nd now my nail is a dark purple? im in pain?
Don't worry, your finger is just bruised underneath the nail. Don't take the whole nail off, because that will just make it take longer to heal, since it will need to grow back. For your finger to heal fully in the shortest amount of time, keep the nail on and try not to use your finger much. OUCH!!! Don't take your nail off, the dark purple is from blood that is pooling under your fingernail. It will stop hurting in a day or two, stick your finger in ice. In a worst case scenario, a doctor may drill a tiny hole in the nail to relieve the pressure, do not do this yourself as you can cause it to become infected. Your fingernail will eventually grow out, take some tylenol or advil for the pain.
Go see your doctor and he will drill a small pin hole in the nail... it is hurting because all the blood is stuck in one area with no where to go... once the pressure is released you will be pain free and your nail will come off faster and regrow.
your finger is doing that because of all the blood under you nail its a bit like a bruise i guess. i dont suggest taking the whole nail of because i did that once and while the nail was growing back i kept knocking it and it hurts like hell.. goood luck xx
at least your brother didn't do it to you my brother smashed mine in the door and broke my smallest finger that was really bad but anyways just leave it as it is
thats just the pressure of the car door dont worry ur finger is just bruised thats all (just place it in cold water) in a week the discoloration of purple would go away.
ice it and wait for it to heal by its self.it happened to me one.
