Sophie g,

Ringworm is the name given to fungal infections that are on the surface of the skin and/or nails. The medical term for ringworm is ';tinea.'; The causative agents are known as dermatophytes, which means ';skin fungi.'; Skin fungi can only live on the dead layer of keratin protein on top of the skin. There are about 8 different types of tinea that affect the human, and it is named tinea corporis when the fungus affects the skin of the body and it often produces the round spots of classic ringworm. Sometimes, these spots have an ';active'; outer border as they slowly grow and advance. It is important to distinguish this rash from other even more common rashes, such as nummular eczema. This condition, and others, may appear similar to ringworm, but they are not fungal and require different treatment. Nail varnish is not one of the recommended treatments for a fungal infection. As it has no therapeutic value and only covers the fungus, it would not appear to be of any benefit as most fungi are anaerobic - which means that they do not need oxygen to live. As you state that this condition has persisted for a lengthy period of time, maybe your doctor would consider doing a skin scrape for the purpose of microscopic examination and diagnosis.

No

you need to get an antifungal cream from a pharmacy.
no it dont some girls told me but shes one psycho ***** :)
Well, if you don't want to end up losing your arm due to infection and what not, i suggest you get back to the doc asap. Don't try any of your ';home made'; remedies. It could cause more complications then you need/want.

Good luck
Well then it's not ringworm is it?

It is likely to be a yeast/fungus infection, so you can try going on a yeast and sugar free diet for a few days and see how that goes.

No sugar, yeast, bread, sugar coated cereals, no milk, no mushrooms, no vinegar, no pizza, no cheese, no fermented foods, no fruit.

Hope you are feeling better soon.
