No , all you need is the correct underlay, which is like a thick silver paper, bubbles on one side.
The laminated wooden boards just slot together, on no account do you ever glue any part of this in fact you need to leave a space around the edges to allow for expansion, it is all a very simple job and the printed instructions are simple to follow.
I did my lounge area and hallway, I am no handy man!
Just a word of warning, I looked at a lot of these packs priced it all up, and was suprised to find I was way out in my estimate. The underlay stuff was very expensive, then I needed special tools to knock this stuff into place without damaging the edges, then quadrant to match for around the edges to cover the required gaps.
But worth every penny much more hygenic than carpet, lasts for years and easy to clean. Go for it. Good luck.Im wanting to fit real wooden flooring to wooden floor boards do i need to use a nail gun?
Real tongue and grove 3/4inch floor boards? If so you ll need a nail gun and flooring nailer/ stapler. A nail gun to top nail in a few places that a floor nailer can t reach and floor nailer to properly nail/staple thru the tongue of the board w/o being seen. You shouldn t use a nail gun( finish nailer) to shoot thru the tongue since the floor nail/ staple gun shoots a nail/ staple that properly holds the board in place.
Any ??? e mail me GLIm wanting to fit real wooden flooring to wooden floor boards do i need to use a nail gun?
If the new floorboards are tongue and grooved then they will slot in place, maybe use some glue depending on the quality of the floor panels.
DON'T nail through the new panels into the old, this is not necessary.
Put some thin underlay down (that you use for laminate) over the existing flooring and then lay the new boards on top. The weight of them all joined together will ensure they don't move.
You will need a flooring nailer e.g a portanailer 401 or you can screw down with Tongue tite hardwood flooring screws, all are secret fixings that go through the top of the tongue.
Gluing the floor together is not advisable as the floor expands and contracts over the year and this causes the glue joints to break.

no you dont you can hammer the nails in or you can use wood glue you certainly dont need a nail gun.
No, that would ruin it. It slots together or you can stick it.
