Im trying to install skirting boards on plywood, is it ok to use nails...please help?

Hi

Skirting board takes no weight so for an easy and clean job use ';no more nails'; or a similar product - Its really strong and fast.Im trying to install skirting boards on plywood, is it ok to use nails...please help?
you should do DDIY ';Don't do it yourself';Im trying to install skirting boards on plywood, is it ok to use nails...please help?
screws, they won't loosen.
My husband used no nails (or similar). But put a few pins in along the way to give it time to stick we had no problem with that and it did not come away from the wall. Just small pins so they cannot be seen any slight pin hole does not normally show and can be covered with paint. I f you really need to do something with the pin holes a little wood filler if needed.
I agree, ';No More Nails';, it's effectively a glue. Then there's no risk of hitting any pipes or cables behind the wall and no nail/screw holes to fill.
Yes as previously mentioned you cant beat no nails or similar, Be prepared to use wedges etc to ensure the skirting is back to the surface of the wall.( In extreme cases where the walls may be bowed etc then screw fix instead).
you can use nails but that is the more difficcult option...

if you using nails make sure they are not going to hit any pipes or cables behind the skirting...

it would be easier and cheaper for you to use some for of adhesive such as no more nails or wood glue...

or you can use screws which are quick easy and clean... again ensure you dont hit any pipes or cables...
Use screws...faster, easier, and you can remove them if you want.
yes, it might be o.k if you used small tacks our you could use a speical glue
It's much easier and better to use ';No Nails';. With nails you may split the wood, with ';No Nails'; it's like using glue
If you use nails or screws you will have to sink them below the level of the board and then fill over tehm before you paint to ensure they don't show. Too much work. No More Nails glue is very quick and very good.
what ever you do dont use no more nails its crap, only cow boys use no more nails
that adhesive called no nails is good for that job and looks better too
As in you are dressing up existing plywood skirting w/ manufactured skirting?

Yes u can use nails, but screws are better. if it is outside, use galvanized so u don't get ';rust run';, a mark down the skirting where water runs after running over the nailhead.

Use galvanized if nails or screws.

Screws are easier. If it is a new skirting situation, use pressure treated lumber, 1 or 2x's, under the skirting, it is easier and will last longer
Screws!, with either brass cups on hardwood or countersunk.

Put them in pairs, one above the other about 18'; apart the pair.
